XAdES & CAdES Portal

ETSI Centre for Testing and Interoperability (CTI) is organizing 2 new Remote Plugtests events for XAdES and CAdES, conducted in parallel from 25th October to 5th November 2010.

The XAdES event aims at conducting interoperability test cases on XAdES signatures.

- This will include an extension to the XAdES v1.3.2 with respect to previous Plugtests events. This extended test will provide test coverage of the specification including testing signatures evolution, simulating real life situations.
- A new set of specific test cases will also be provided to cover the extensions defined in the new XAdES v1.4.1.

The CAdES event aims to perform interoperability tests on CAdES implementations.

- This will include an extension to the CAdES v1.7.4 with respect to previous Plugtests events. This extended test will provide test coverage of the specification including testing signatures evolution, simulating real life situations.
- A new set of specific test cases that cover the changes defined in the last version of CAdES v1.8.1.

The purpose of these events is:

• To consolidate solutions to already identified interoperability issues of XAdES and CAdES.
• To enable participants to assess the level of interoperability of XAdES and CAdES.
• To identify additional issues that should be taken into account in future CAdES /XAdES standardization activities.
• To improve the quality of XAdES/CAdES specifications.
• To ease the introduction of XAdES/CAdES signatures, by providing the means to solve interoperability problems before widespread deployment..
